Welcome back to Haunted Books & Haunted Girls! I’m so happy that you’re joining me. If you haven’t subscribed already, please consider signing up below (for free!), so you never miss an issue of this newsletter. 🖤
A very special day has arrived! I’m so excited to be in your inboxes to let you know that This Raging Sea is officially available to request to read on NetGalley!!
To try and snag an ARC, head on over to NetGalley at the link below. You’ll need an account in order to request, but it’s free to sign up.
Along with this announcement comes a friendly reminder that all ARC approvals and distribution are handled by my publisher. And if you’re a bookseller or reviewer/influencer/journalist wondering about physical ARCs, I would encourage you to reach out to my publisher directly. Lastly, for those wondering about availability beyond the US…stay tuned!
Please know, too, that you can find a list of content warnings on my author website, should you wish to view them before reading.
If you’re active on Goodreads, you might have seen that I shared a quick note to readers after the first ARCs dropped on Edelweiss earlier this spring. With TRS reaching even more people now, I’m going to copy an abridged version of it below for you all as well. 🖤
Dear Readers,
Advanced copies of This Raging Sea are starting to make their way into the world, which is so exciting! As people begin to meet Briar and Finn early, I wanted to take a moment to say a few words.
The first is to express the biggest thank you to everyone who has added this book to your TBR, or generally expressed excitement online. I am so grateful for each and every one of you, and I’m endlessly happy that This Raging Sea will be in your hands soon.
This Raging Sea is truly a book of my heart. It was created from just a tiny seed of an idea: a story about a boy who vanishes from time itself and a girl with a terrible secret who will love him fiercely—in every universe. Over time, it became so much more than that. It’s a love letter to girls with messy, big feelings who are tired of staying small. A tribute to bi people, existing authentically as themselves. A nod to platonic love and that rare kind of friendship that transcends time and space. A story about nostalgia, about found family, about the word “home” and how it isn’t a place at all.
To be honest, it’s been quite emotional to say a goodbye of sorts to this book, as it’s been my entire world for the past three years. But I’m so excited that This Raging Sea is finally going to belong to readers now. My greatest hope has always been that Briar and Finn’s story might help someone feel seen, and perhaps a little less alone.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for choosing to spend time with Briar and Finn. I hope you enjoy your time in Loch Creek…just perhaps avoid the northern shores after dark. <3
🖤 Bookish Updates 🖤
So many things are happening behind the scenes! Here’s a quick rundown:
My 2026 adult dark academia novel has recently gotten a little makeover. What was previously called A Shared Haunting is now known as She Haunts Me Still. Personally, I am obsessed with this working title change, as it encompasses so many threads of this story at once (you’ll see what I mean when you read it next year). Preorder information will be coming in a few months; for now, you can add it to your TBR on Goodreads.
I’m currently hard at work creating something for This Raging Sea that I’ll get to tell you all about soon. For now, I’ll just say that if you’ve preordered (from anywhere!), you should definitely save your receipts. And if you haven’t preordered yet, you can do so below:
Lastly, I will be back in your inboxes soon with the previously promised newsletter all about She Haunts Me Still’s journey. It’s a long story, but one that I think is important to tell, because so often we hear about those super-fast, overnight success stories in publishing. Some books, however, take more time and can remind us that “no” can actually mean “not yet.” More very soon!
If you enjoyed this newsletter, I’d love it if you subscribed at the link below. It’s fully free, and all future issues will go directly to your inbox.
